September 6 Meeting

Announcements

Joan brought us our Rotary moment and talked about a group:  Rotary Brew that through the love of beer raises money for clean water.

Save the date for a BBQ at the Utigard's place on September 18th.  Details to follow.  (Will the festivities include a big screen t.v. for the Seahawks game... )

There is a Board Meeting on September 12th, 7:00 a.m. at Wild Huckleberry.

Jim did a little presidential housekeeping and everyone voted to move Leslie into the Treasurer position, Jim to the President position and Lisa to the Vice President position.  Erin is still President Elect.

The Chaplainacy Committee has decided to rotate through different invocations throughout the year.

Joe Grimes will have his photography equipment next week at 6:30 a.m. and after the meeting.  New members, please get your pictures taken.  If you already have a picture but don't like it, you can get it re-done.

Brags and Confessions

Alan has been busy with work and missed all of August.

Erin had a plaintiff dismiss a case which made her cross-examination job much easier.  She also got to visit a brand new nephew.  And she is celebrating her 9th wedding anniversary.

PJ attended a wedding in Sheridan, Wyoming out in a pasture where many generations had been married before.

Earl missed last week due to the first day of school and pre-paid for the upcoming lateness due to his daughter being on the debate team.

Joan has been busy with back to school stuff.  She also climbed Stein Hill!

Program

Our Program today was presented by Linda Haglund, Executive Director of the Wenatchee Downtown Association.

The purpose of WDA is to strengthen and empower the Downtown area of Wenatchee.  If you are  member, you get to contribute up to 75% of your B & O tax right back into your own community.  See details here.

The WDA is part of the Main Street Movement which works to preserve the historical places of downtown communities.

Upcoming events of the Downtown Association include the Harvest Festival, Holiday Open House Wine Walk and Mingle & Jingle.  For all the events, click here.

Also, be sure to attend the Harvest Festival to vote for the next Presidential dog!  Last year this vote raised $8,000.00 for the humane society.  Head into Firehouse Pet Shop to cast your vote.  It will likely be the best vote you cast this year...
