Announcements

Rebecca Lyons was awarded the Rotarian of the Month by President Taro.  He cited her willingness to lead the fellowship committee, and organizing the Christmas party as examples of her work this month.

Rebecca Lyons spoke about the club Holiday Party on Wednesday, Dec. 18th, 6 pm at Ridgeline Graphics. Bring a gift (value <$20) for the optional White Elephant gift exchange. BYOB; club will provide water. The Dessert Dash is to raise funds for the Salisbury Foundation. Cash, checks, credit cards and IOU's are accepted. The IOU's will be billed through the club's treasurer on the next club dues statement. The buffet dinner is Roast Pork Loin with cherry-apple chutney OR orange balsamic-rosemary-glazed chicken. Side dishes are Garlic Mashed Potatoes, festive greens salad, and focaccia bread. Please bring a canned food donation to the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council for local food bank distribution.



Carol Adamson reminded the club that they can still buy gifts for Adele, our Swiss Youth Exchange Student. You can give them to her to put under the host family's Christmas tree.  Bring them to the party.



Wayne Massing reminded club members about the Life Flight Network applications. We now have 12 club members to sign up for the yearly rate to be $59.  If you'd like to sign up for this air ambulance service for $59/yr per household, contact Wayne Massing (206-290-7143 cell). Applications are currently being collected. An email has been sent out to those who already enrolled asking them to send a check made payable to Wayne Massing for $59. Once all the payments have been collected, Wayne will send Life Flight one check for all the enrollments. Bring your check to the Holiday Party, or mail to Wayne Massing, 74 Springhill Drive, E. Wenatchee 98802

The Wenatchee Rotary Club is having an auction on Saturday, Jan. 25th. Dinner and auction is $65/pp. Contact Kathleen McNalty for information.

Brags and Confessions



John Schapman bragged about going to a wedding and still remembering how to use a film-type camera (non-digital).

John McDarment flew to Chicago to attend his youngest son's graduation.

Ruth Dagg bragged about her son being back from Afghanistan.

Alan Walker and his wife Kelly attended their daughter's wedding and were given a short cut to get back to town from the woods. Alan and Kelly decided not to take the short cut! Their daughter later took the short cut, and got into an accident with her Jeep.

Adele, our Swiss Youth Exchange student, enjoyed a ski trip to Silver Star in Vernon, BC.

Club President, Taro Masuda, was upset with his Ute's football team and their recent loss. During a visit with his parents in Southern California, he was given a pass-down regarding equipment operation should his parents pass away. 


Jim Huffman shared multiple Chuck Norris jokes with only one deserving a laugh!

Erik Holmberg fined everyone who wasn't on the ballot, citing lack of commitment!


Program



Club President, Taro Masuda, shared his photos of his recent trip to Croatia after his attending the Hamburg, Germany, Rotary International Convention in June, 2019.  He and Patti traveled from Seattle to Edinburgh, Scottland, then on to Hamburg, then to Split, Croatia, then by boat to Dubrovnik, Croatia, then on to London, and finally back to Seattle.  He talked about the RI Convention, and some of the activities there (hall of friendship, Zone 24 dinner, tours to a bee farm, and other sites around Hamburg.
