Meeting February 28th

First, from the Blogger:  I have more to add to this newsletter but I won't be able to do it until Sunday so look for another edition Sunrise Update in a few days!

Announcements:

YWCA project is on March 18th!  Get your painting clothes out!

March 8th is our next club social.  Join us at Badger Mtn brewing company for Trivia night!

Pete is wondering how many people are interested in a night at the movies with the club- let him know if this interests you.

Laura says Rotaract is busy with fundraisers and helping out at the Senior Center.  Currently there are 6 members and it sure seems like they are a very proactive group of 6!

Do you have a place to put a bike ride poster?  Get one at the next club meeting.

Jerry presented Bryan Noyd with his two-time Paul Harris pin.  Thank you Bryan!

Brags and Confessions:

Rebecca's daughter is a finalist for Apple Blossom Royalty!

Tana had a birthday.

Annie had a birthday.

Joan's sister won her 4th Academy Award for costume design.

Program:

Josh from Mission Ridge came and spoke to us about their proposed expansion over the next 20 years.  This is the 50th year of Mission Ridge and with all the exciting plans in place, it looks like we will be hearing about Mission Ridge for another 50 years when they will celebrate being 100!

You can learn more about Mission Ridge here.

One of the very cool things Mission Ridge has is called a Freedom Pass.  It is an affordable way to learn to ski- open to all ages.  Contact Mission Ridge for more information.

Josh went through a lot of details regarding the expansion and it is clear to see that there is a solid, wildlife-friendly, thoughtful plan behind this expansion.  It will bring a great boost to our community with one of the premier ski areas around.  Mission ridge has more acreage and less skiiers and nearby mountains making it an amazing destination.
