Road Apple Roulette
- 300 tickets sold at the Home Show
- 1584 tickets sold so far
- 3000 tickets need to be sold to break even
- There are a number of events scheduled to sell more tickets in April
- There are events every Saturday and some Fridays
- Kathleen is still working on more opportunities

Program - Lonnie Walls, Director of Community Programs, CDCAC
Lonnie has worked for the CDCAC (Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council) for 20 years. Lonnie works for Alan Walker at the Council.
Lonnie also knows Jim Adamson. Jim worked with some of Lonnie's' students in Summer School.
Lonnie is responsible for several significant projects for the CDCAC.
- CDCAC Literacy Program - (English as a Second Language)
- Established in 2005
- Currently 50 students
- 25 students from Ukraine and 25 Hispanic students
- The program takes students from entry level language through GED
- 70% of the students are women
- The objective of many of the students is to improve their job opportunities
- Tutors are volunteers that teach English with a curriculum provided by the CDCAC
- Asset Building (Personal Finance Education/Literacy)
- Many of the people that work with the CDCAC have a need to better manage their personal finances
- Low income, job challenges, debt, family needs are just a few of the reasons that people need to better understand how to use their money wisely
- Washington State Working Families Tax Credit Program
- WA State offers up to $1200 per year for qualified families.
- This program is in addition to the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit
- The CDCAC works with customers to fill out the information to qualify for this program
- The CDCAC works with AARP in East Wenatchee to help families file their taxes to the IRS
- Low Income Housing
- The CDCAC has 50 units
- 3 to 4 bedroom units cost $950/month which is substantially lower than other rental properties in the area
- This effort can have as many as 10 to 11 staff members
- Energy Efficiency for Low Income Homeowners
- The CDCAC helps with power, water and sewer needs
- Making homes more efficient with new windows and insulation are a big part of the program
- AmeriCorps
- The CDCAC brings in AmeriCorps staff members when possible
- One service they work with is the Senior Center
- Housing costs in the area limit opportunities since the AmeriCorps staff members only receive $2000/month which is about the same as local rent
- Food Distribution
- The CDCAC supplies food banks in the larger Wenatchee area including surrounding towns
- A new larger capacity facility will be remodeled starting on May 8th
- This project is a $6 million project planned to be completed in 2023
- Confluence Rotary has contributed $20,000
- Chelan Rotary has contributed $5,000
- Public fund raising efforts will begin soon
Robin presented a book for Lonnie to sign.
