Meeting Notes October 9, 2018

Announcements:


  • Next Sunrise Social will be October 10th (TONIGHT!) at 5:30 p.m. at Bob's Burgers and Brews.
  • The Bring A Guest Winner for the last quarter was Jim Adamson. Bring a guest an enter to win a gift certificate!
  • Want to learn Pickleball?  Of course you do- who doesn't??   It's the fastest growing sport in America (wow, I looked that up and it is actually true- who knew??) . Head to 255 N. Georgia Avenue, East Wenatchee, on Saturday October 13th from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.  Bring a water bottle, comfortable clothing, court shoes and a folding chair (optional).
  • This Thursday, Oct. 11th is the last Second Harvest of the year. Be at the Community Center on Chelan Street at 10:30 a.m.
  • World Wide Polio Dinner is October 24th at the Wenatchee Valley Senior Center.  Fun prizes and great fellowship!  6:00.  Be there!
  • Highway Clean-Up is October 27th from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.   Bring gloves, water, decent shoes, and dress for the weather.  We need at least 8 people.

Brags and Confessions:

  • Earl Crowe was late because his daughter is now on Safety Patrol.   He is also looking forward to an upcoming hunting trip with Ethan.
  • Kathleen McNalty celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary.
  • Wayne Massing forgot to thank Ethan for his help at the Gorge.
  • Eric McCool went to Virginia to visit her new nephew.  She is also helping a Rotary Scholar with his Medical School application.
  • Taro Masuda is cheering on some Utah team I didn't catch the name of.
  • Carol Adamson says "Go Cougs"

The Program today was a virtual trip to Armenia provided by David Barshes.  He has previously served in the Peace Corps in Armenia and now considers himself ABC (Armenian By Choice).
He gave a fun and interesting presentation about the country.
