Meeting Notes September 18, 2018

Announcements:

  • Our next club social is on October 10th at 5:30 p.m. at Bob's Burgers and Brews in East Wenatchee.
  • Josef reports that school is good and he had a nice time traveling a bit, including going to Yakima.
  • Carol asked us all to save the date October 24th for World Wide Polio Meal Day.   There will be a dinner from 6:00-8:00 at the Senior Center
  • Alan is the new chair of the Bike Ride committee.   Meetings will begin this month, the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at Bob's Burgers and Brews. The next one is October 16th.
  • Leslie has four free tickets to the Altheia Riding Center gala.  Contact her if you want them.
  • PJ has a Habitat for Humanity project on September 29th and October 6th.  Several people are needed to help out.  Contact Ruth Dagg if you are available.
  • Penny, from Leavenworth Rotary, wanted everyone to know about the Annual Road Rally on September 22nd. Start time is 11:30 a.m.- meet in the Cascade Highschool Parking Lot.  Donation of $10.00 per car.  Driving/walking treasure hunt!

Brags and Confessions:

  • Earl Crowe was accused of kidnapping his own kid from the parking lot after school one day.  He has since been cleared of all charges. (no charges, just confusion :)
  • Alan Walker went on a road trip that included Arches, Vail and Jackson Hole.
  • Carol Adamson says Go Cougs!
  • Jim Adamson said that he went a long trip- 18 hours of travel to Prince George- for a 3 hour meeting.
  • Wayne Massing said 6 people came to the pool party and that the DMB concert at the Gorge raised $2316.00.
  • Mansour has a cruise coming up.
  • Erik Holmberg was in Atlanta for a Husky game but it also happened to be the same weekend a DragonCon- a multiday event in which thousands of people dress up in crazy costumes.  He is also going to be headed to London for the Seahawks game.
  • PJ lost a dear friend recently.  The friend had saved his life in 1968 by digging out from under and avalanche.
  • Kaitlyn VanWeerdhuizen was pulled over for have a picture of an alligator taped to her license plate.  Turns out Ethan's co-workers did it as some joke.   Kaitlyn didn't find it funny.  However, the police officer asked to keep the pictures to show everyone at the station.
  • Leslie Trebotich is headed to Utah.
  • Penny from Leavenworth Club donated $20.00 because she felt the entertain at the Sunrise Rotary Meeting was worth it!
