January 19th Announcements, Brags & Confessions

Civil Rights Award.  Our own Joan Wright has won the City of Wenatchee's Diversity Advisory Committee for its  Civil Rights and Social Justice Award for an individual.  Read more here:

Guests Galore!  We are fortunate to have many guests attending our meetings.  Take a look at the full list on our side bar notes.

Norm brought Dick Baker of Columbia Crest RiverVue Suite, a 1000 square foot luxury rental accommodation.

Jim hosted Lisa Humphrey from Columbia Valley Community Health.  CVCH is a generous sponsor of our Apple Century Bike Ride to support scholarships for local high school students at risk of dropping out.

Spares and Strikes. Don't forget our bowling event next Sunday, January 24 from 2 -3.  Arrive at 1:30 to get shoes and food orders.  Contact Joan Wright if you have questions.

Senior Dinner Plans.  Our target audience is not high school
seniors but the elderly in our community.  Jill Courtney is working on our senior dinner.  The convention center is not an option but St. Joseph's Catholic Church is a possibility.  Thank you Taro for letting Jill use your name and good standing in her outreach to them.

Brags & Confessions

  • Jim Huffman congratulated Club members Alan Walker and Lisa Parks on landing us a spot as one of 15 semifinalists in America's Best Communities contest.
  • Jim Adamson celebrated his mom's 90th birthday.  (Great pictures on Facebook!)
  • Earl Crowe celebrated, and paid for, his 44th birthday.  Congratulations
  • Speaking of Earl... He has delivered three Bike Ride sponsors: Telford Chapel of the Valley, Wards Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, and Laura Mounter Real Estate.  Thanks Earl!
