Carol and Jim Adamson led the meeting today in Kathleen's absence, although she was able to attend via zoom. After the pledge, invocation, and howdys, Carol explained the reason for her western attire. The club program today would be a committee "Roundup", where members would have a chance to sign up for a couple committees they wanted to be involved with this year.

Pybus Farmer's Market takeover is also Saturday from 8:00 - 1:00. If you didn't already sign up for either of these projects you can just show up. Wear Rotary attire, if you can.
The back-to-school clothes and supplies giveaway was very successful last Saturday. Several of our Rotarians volunteered in the heat to help with traffic control and distribution. Over 1000 kids are now ready for school. The event was sponsored by Columbia Valley Community Health and Serve Wenatchee Valley.
Breakfast change possible. Over the next few weeks we will try breakfast goodies from Little Red's Bakery and Expresso (in the north Pybus parking lot). The type of food, beverage, and pricing will be similar. The switch would allow us more flexibility in ordering, and the food would be hotter.
- donating $250 to hospital Snuggle Buddies program;
- still exploring the project of cleaning up the service club sign board at the north Wenatchee entrance;
- background checks for mentors and other youth volunteers will have a process shortly;
- we are planning to support the Wenatchee Rotary Club by donating an item to their auction in January. It may be something like hosting a big dinner for the high bidder.
Brags & Confessions
- Robin and Richard have their COVID tests scheduled so they can get to Canada for club visits.
- Earl is back from a great trip to Hawaii, where he and Joy celebrated their 25th anniversary.
- PJ and Cookie spent Sunday night and Monday helping save a house in the 25 Mile Creek fire near Lake Chelan. That house was saved, but 2 of the 6 houses and the saw mill with lots of lumber are gone. He said that the power of prayer helped save the house.
- Wayne has been busy tending his home while Karen has had to spend much more time with her mom, and coordinating with her care team now that her mom is on hospice. He has been away for awhile, but continues to serve when he can.
