November 26 meeting notes

Announcements

Christmas party Dec. 18.  Site to be determined, but put it on your calendar.  Family and friends invited.

Thanks to John Schapman for hauling an old freezer to the Dryden transfer station for a family.

We still need half of you to fill out the club survey sent out a couple weeks ago through Survey Monkey.  The information is not very useful if all of you don't give us your feedback.  Please do this asap.  Contact Rebecca Lyons, John Schapman, or Jim Adamson if you don't have the survey link any longer and we will resend it.  Thanks.

Adele is ready to start skiing, and heads for Silver Star in Vernon, BC, December 6.

Brags and Confessions

Chris McDarment went to see his son play water polo at CWU.
PJ Jones bragged about Montana State and Utah football victories.
Erik Holmberg was disappointed enough not to renew his UW season tickets, but was glad Oregon got beat.  Apple Cup this Friday afternoon.  GO COUGS! (editors note).
Kathy Hamilton also gave a buck for the COUGS (all the other WSU fans were fined - again).
Robin Derock's hockey team (Blackhawks) have now lost 3 in a  row.  She also said that next Wednesday is her last day of work (paid anyway).  She also mentioned that the Confluence club now has 89 members, and inducted the last two at a meeting at her home.  She encouraged us to get with it and bring in some great new members.
Wayne Massing and his wife are back from a trip to Portland.

Program

Mary Gilmore and George Templeton were here today to tell us about the Life Flight Network.  This helicopter and fixed-wing ambulance company has been serving for 41 years.  They have 28 bases in WA, OR, ID, and MT. They are the largest non-profit service of this type in the US, and are owned by four PNW and Inter-mountain hospitals.  Each flight has a team of 2 critical care professionals.  They average about 10 flights out of Wenatchee each month, although the closet bases are in Brewster and Moses Lake.  Life Flight offers memberships that will cover the cost for a person and their family.
