Program - The Performing Arts Center - Woody Lotts

 Craig Reese and Woody Lotts

Last year the Performing Arts Center hosted 125 events!

From 2021 to 2022, 21,000 people attended Performing Arts Center events.

From 2022 to 2023, 35,000 people attended Performing Arts Center events.

Woody shared that his vision for the Performing Arts Center is to measure success in the community by several areas:
  • Financial
  • Artistic
  • Human
  • Social Enterprise
Woody makes sure the community is integrated into the success of the PAC as a community resource and value center.

This year there will be 2 90-minnute Jazz concerts, one for Cashmere and one for Eastmont to include the Arts from the entire Wenatchee Valley area.

When Woody talks about the Human component of the PAC, he includes:
  • Employees
  • Volunteers
  • The Board
  • Patrons
Strategic Planning
  • All of the "human" groups are represented when the PAC has planning meetings for upcoming events and annual strategies.
PAC Core Values - Woody Explained that he only wants to work with people who are passionate about the work they do at the PAC. They want people who exude the attributes that are a part of their core values:
  • Ignite Passion
  • Build Community
  • Include everyone!
  • Share Joy
  • Change Lives
The PAC's success is an economic driver for the Wenatchee downtown area. The more people that the PAC draws to the area, the more the restaurants, stores and other businesses benefit economically.

The PAC had a presentation of Kinky Boots during Hot August Nights. The event sold out, so for the first time they added another show! That show sold out as well. This is a huge deal when it comes to a show that had talent from all over the country and they were all willing to stay for another run.

The PAC is exceeding their budget targets thanks to Woody's leadership. As a result, they are able to reinvest in the theatre.

They are finalizing the addition of a new sound system. The old one was 21 years old. The new system costs $151,000 and is coming from Germany. The new system will have assisted listening for support added as soon as possible.

Other improvements include new stage curtains, a new projector, and a new security system to keep the staff and actors safe.

It is clear that Wenatchee is lucky to have found Woody. The impact has had to both the PAC and the community has been phenomenal. It is hard to believe what he has done in a short 2 years, and we can't wait to see where he takes us in the future.

Woody shared with us that he and his team are starting now to find the events and performers for the 2024-2025 season.

They make a list of the broad range of target audiences they want to support over the next 12 months.

They attend conferences (40 meetings in 4 days) to target the types of shows that fit the community. Their goal is to have shows that draw 200-400 patrons for each show.

Important: "The Festival of Trees" is the major fundraiser for the PAC. The event is scheduled for November 15th-19th at the PAC.
